Introduction

Next Thursday, on the 27th of June at 3pm, we will be welcoming a very special speaker to our webinar, Abhijnan Dasgupta, Practice Director for Business Process Services who also manages Everest Group’s Trust & Safety outsourcing offerings.  Abhijnan is responsible for everything Trust & Safety at Everest and is the main author of the Peak Matrix for Trust & Safety, which gives an overview of all the BPOs involved in providing Trust & Safety services. Leveraging his significant consulting and research experience, he has advised many global service providers and enterprises on digital transformation, cost transformation, product strategy, and go-to-market strategy. Abhijnan also has significant experience in advising clients on M&A and post-deal engagements.

Webinar Theme

The rise of generative AI necessitates a renewed focus on moderator wellbeing. With generative AI causing an increase in volume and complexity of content to be moderated, there is a need to enhance wellbeing efforts for Content Moderators to be able to deal with new challenges.

The event will focus on how to deal with Content Moderator wellbeing in the age of AI. The webinar covers three specific areas:

  • The Need for Wellbeing in Trust & Safety – which looks at the type of work that moderators do, and why that makes them susceptible to various types of emotional distress. Abhijnan will talk about the impact of GenAI on the content world – with increases in all types of content, but specifically egregious.
  • Current Wellbeing Lifecycle – This section of the webinar looks at the various types of wellbeing support moderators are receiving at some of the market leading organizations. This is based on Everest research as part of the Peak Matrix with BPO organizations, and various briefings that Abhijnan has received from some of the VLOPs and other large social media companies.
  • Future of Wellbeing – This section looks at the importance of preventative interventions for the kind of work moderators do, and includes a broader, organizational-wide cultural shift in addition to investment in specialized tools to make moderators’ lives easier, including some exciting new AI tools on the market.

There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, and drill deeper into specific topics. As always, Everest’s knowledge of the Trust & Safety market is unparalleled, and I am excited to learn about the major impact genAI has had in this space.
